The Maine Masonic Charitable Foundation is excited to announce a new collaboration with Special Olympics Maine, to ensure the Maine delegation of athletes selected to compete at the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games in Orlando have what they need to make the trip.
The Special Olympics Maine Delegation is comprised of 38 athletes, coaches and partners from communities all across Maine. We hope you will join us in supporting these deserving athletes.
It is all about teamwork. The Maine Masonic Charitable Foundation has made a commitment to Special Olympics Maine to provide up to $65,000 in direct and/or matching funds to make sure the Maine Delegation has everything needed to make the trip and compete in this once in a lifetime experience.
The Widows Sons Masonic Motorcycle Association – Low XII Riders Chapter, Waterville Masonic Lodge #33, Belfast Masonic Lodge #24 and Howard Masonic Lodge #69 have already agreed to use money they have and/or will raise locally to apply for matching funds from the Foundation under the MAC – Masons Assisting Communities initiative.
Under the Foundation’s Matching Grants program, each Lodge can apply for up to $3,000 in matching funds to assist a local nonprofit or community organization. There are 177 Masonic Lodges in Maine, if you wish to support our efforts to get these athletes down to Orlando in June 2022, we encourage you to contact your local Masonic Lodge [find a Lodge near you] and work together to turn $1 into $3 or $1,500 into $4,500! You can also donate directly here.
