MVH – Machias Awarded Masonic Charitable Foundation Grant

Maine Veterans’ Home in Machias was awarded a 2015 “Building Our Community” charitable grant by the Maine Masonic Charitable Foundationin a snow-bound ceremony at the MVH-Machias facility Sunday, March 15.

Despite the uncooperative winter weather, a large contingent of Washington County masons were on hand as 3rd District Deputy Grand Master Keith Crowley, Jr., presented a check for $2,000 to MVH-Machias ActivitiesCoordinator Jen Wood in front of numerous residents, family members, and community supporters.

The winner for the 3rd District was decided by the number of votes cast on the Maine Masonic Charitably Foundation website over the course of several weeks.

“It was an honor to have our facility be nominated for and receive the number of votes to win the Masons Charitable Foundation Grant. The residents, families, and staff are very appreciative of the generosity of the Masons,” said Marcia Jackson, MVH-Machias Administrator. “It is generous donations from organizations such as this that allow us to enhance our Activity Program.”
