The Trustees of the Masonic Charitable Foundation of the Grand Lodge of Maine offer four matching grant programs to the lodges across the state. The programs are intended to support lodges by providing encouragement and financial assistance to help them accomplish projects which will better the communities in which they are located, provide opportunities for Masons to work together, and give the lodges greater visibility in the communities in which they are located.
These programs, most notably the Masonic Bikes for Books program, has grown greatly across the state, with one quarter of all lodges receiving matching grants last year. Beginning in the current 2015-2016 fiscal year, the Trustees have approved an increase in all matching grant programs. Now lodges will be receive two dollars for every dollar up to the first $500 that they raise for a program. So a lodge that raises $500 will receive a $1,000 match from the Foundation after successfully completing a matching grant application.
For questions on the program, please contact the Grand Secretary’s office or click here to see the guidelines for the program.
