Accessibility

The Maine Masonic College complies with the Americans With Disabilities Act. If any conference participant is in need of reasonable accommodation, we ask that they forward a written request to the College Registrar for consideration at least one month prior to the activity.

Physical facilities

Some facilities used by the Maine Masonic College include older Masonic halls which may not be fully accessible to all. Whenever selecting locations for class-type presentations, we are particularly mindful of stairs, restrooms, and vehicle parking issues which might prove problematic but due to very limited funds, fully approved ADA facilities might not be available, particularly in more rural parts of our state. Be assured, though, of our intent to make each and every program accessible to anyone and anyone who might wish to attend and take every action possible to minimize or negate barriers.

Our web site

Some of the documents on the our web site are in HTML or ASCII (plain text) formats. These formats are generally accessible to people who use screen readers. Many documents are created in Adobe® Acrobat® Portable Document Format (PDF).  PDF format is used to preserve the content and layout of our hard copy publications. Publications in PDF can only be viewed and printed using the Adobe Acrobat Reader™, version 4.0 or higher. You can download and get help using the Acrobat Reader at the Adobe web site. The downloadable Acrobat Reader software is available at NO CHARGE.

Those using screen-reading devices generally are unable to read documents directly in PDF format unless they have an accessibility plug-in installed on their system along with the Adobe Acrobat Reader. This plug-in is available at NO CHARGE from Adobe. Adobe also has online tools that will convert PDF files to HTML on request. To get the plug-in and latest news about Adobe’s accessibility tools and services, visit this section of the Adobe site.
