September 10, 2022 – Military Lodges and Their History

This class will explore the possible connections between Masonry and the Military. We will discuss the core values that go along with the branches of the armed forces and the bodies of freemasonry. We will dive into the history of “military lodges” as to how they were formed, why they were created, and the different lodges that were created.
We will have the pleasure of conducting the class right after the Chili Cookoff hosted by Triangle Lodge #1 in Portland. SOO bring your appetite for food AND knowledge as this should be a wonderful day!!

June 11, 2022 – An Introduction to Symbolism
This is a revision of the initial course offered by the Maine Masonic College. Symbolism is a critical element in experiencing Freemasonry. We will observe and discuss how symbolism is also an integral part in everyone’s life. Lack of an understanding of the levels of symbols and their interpretation, have severe repercussions for us all. This interactive presentation is open to all audiences and ages.

Clear thinking is desperately needed in every aspect of today’s world. This course looks at critical thinking and how this skill set should be incorporated into our daily work life. The topic is explored in detail using short class exercises and discussions to dig into the operational side of thinking critically. The class challenges participants to exercise judgments and to abandon patterns of faulty reasoning in favor of asking a few more questions in the elusive search for truth

January 22, 2022 – Talent 201: Your Personal Brand
Prerequisites: Previous attendance of the Maine Masonic College class Talent 101: You’re Showing Up – But Are Your Talents – Completed the CliftonStrengths on-line Talent assessment and provided instructor with your Top 5 results via email one (1) week prior to attending Talent 201. (January 15th at the latest)

In this highly interactive follow-up to Talent 101, participants will develop their own Personal Brand statement, clarifying how they show up and contribute most to the teams, organizations, and communities to which they belong. First, using their Gallup CliftonStrengths results, each participant will explore his/her strongest talents – the best path for accomplishing outcomes. Second, each participant will complete an exercise to help identify his/her core values. Third, through Stephen MR Covey’s work, participants will determine where they are best and where they can improve how they create and foster trust with others. Finally, participants will bring these 3 elements together in the form of a Personal Brand statement providing the road map of how they interact with others and contribute to group accomplishments.
To Register: IMPORTANT: Participants must complete their on-line CliftonStrengths assessment and provide their Top 5 Talents to Malcolm (at the email below) one week in advance of the class. Doing so will register the participant for the class.
